Church Culture

A biblical, Spirit-inspired (prophetic) church culture is important to us. Seeking the heart of the Father ithrough prayer is of utmost importance to us.

Doing things according to His will AND HIS WAYS, is essential to furthering God's Kingdom and therefore, something we emphasize regularly.

Having all 5 MInistry gifts of Ephesians 4 is important to us.  Here's what we believe about the 5 Ministry gifts.

The 5-fold Ministry Gifts

We believe both men and women can and should be in the 5-fold ministries.

Ephesians 4:8 tells us that when Jesus ascended, He gave gifts to “mankind”.  Some translations say, “men”.

But when Holy Spirit inspired Paul to write the scripture down, He inspired him to write the Greek word, “anthropos”, which is the word meaning, “mankind”.

Holy Spirit is very specific!  When He inspired writers to write in a gender-specific way, He also was very specific.  He would use the Greek word, “aner”, for male; and the Greek words, “gune”, or “gyne”, for female.

Jesus went on in Ephesians 4:11 to identify what those gifts were:

Ephesians 4:11,12

11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ…

Apostles – Govern – they govern doctrine and kingdom business - having varying metrons, some have influence locally, nationally and/or worldwide, and can have very specific influence including, strengthening churches, developing leaders, etc, and may or may not plant or even oversee a church(es).

*We believe there were only 12 Apostles of the Lamb; and Apostles were part of the 5 gifts Jesus gave at His Ascension.

*We also believe there will be no new scriptures.

Prophets – Guide – they are the EYES of Kingdom business for a place or territory, seeing/perceiving what God is doing presently and in the future, to help provide direction.

Evangelists – Gather and Proclaim – they are called to gather people together and proclaim the message of the cross.

Pastors – Guard – they guard, lead and care for the flock of God.

Teachers Ground – they ground the flock of God in sound biblical doctrine, with emphasis on practical application.

We believe it's God's plan for His Church to function in all 5 Ministry Gifts TODAY.

We understand the mandate of Ephesians 4 involves a SHARED RESPONSIBILITY of those among us whom are mature, committed to unity, and that demonstrate 5-fold function, to SHARE THE RESPONSIBILITY of the EPA in the Local Church, to Equip, Train with Sound Doctrine and Activate the gifts of the Son in the ministry and to make disciples.

We believe it is not the sole or exclusive responsibility of any Senior Leader to do the spiritual EPA exclusively. But rather, that these are shared responsibilities of all the 5 Ministry gifts, according to scripture.
